Introducing Seaside Ave, a stunning beachside home reimagined from the ground up. The residence spans three levels, each thoughtfully designed to blend sophistication with an atypical 'coastal' charm.

The ground floor features a versatile private office that doubles as a guest bedroom, complete with an adjoining bathroom and an internal lift imported from Italy. Outside, the swimming pool and outdoor shower are perfect for a quick rinse and dip on return from the beach.

Ascend to the second floor, hosting the master suite with balcony, spacious walk-in robe and ensuite. This level also has two additional bedrooms, a main bathroom, a laundry, and a cosy media room perfect for the grandkids' visits.

The top floor is the heart of the home, featuring key living spaces. A formal dining space, open-plan kitchen and living area, and a grand alfresco space that offers breathtaking 180-degree north-facing views.

What was the design brief for Seaside Ave?

The design brief for this project was to create a warm coastal home with pops of colour and pattern. The client loved rich terracotta and green hues, so our goal was to reflect her personality by incorporating just enough colour to make the space uniquely hers while complementing the new materials of the build. Our aim was to avoid the look of a typical ‘beach house’ and instead create a genuine, personalised space.

What was one piece you just couldn't go past placing into this home?

The Malawi rug in Saffron we used in the master bedroom. The Saffron colour pulled out the warm vein in the marble side table, added depth and contrast to the space, and added a touch of the client's personality. The bold hue of this rug just tied everything together in the master.

Colour can really set the tone for a space. Could you tell us a little about the inspiration behind the colour palette choices you made?

The colour inspiration for this project came from meeting and getting to know the client, Julie. From our initial meetings, she had a flare to her style and also in life so I wanted the colours to feel lively. I generally always pick two colours that work well in contrast so for Julie’s project I used deep terracotta and subtle pinks, with pops of moss greens and yellows.

If you had to pick a favourite room, which would it be?

If I had to pick one room, I would say the Media Room. I loved the colours and mixing of patterns in this space and they all complimented so well with Jai Vasicek’s art piece.

What is your favourite aspect of this project, and why?

One of my favourite aspects of this project was being able to incorporate some of the client’s existing pieces that held sentimental value. The dining table was worn, but to me it had a sort of seaside charm that I could see potential in. This project was all about pairing the right modern pieces with existing heirloom items and styling the space to bring everything together in the home.

Wonderful words from wonderful clients:

"From the moment I walked into Kira & Kira, I knew I had chosen the right place to help furnish my dream home. I was paired with Cyndi who understood my style and listened to what I was trying to achieve. She gave me several options on the mood board and helped me decide. Lulu, Simone and all the staff were always welcoming and extremely helpful. I highly recommend this business and my home looks amazing."
