Yolan Eke

Yolan paints intuitively expressing her optimism and love of light, texture and colour. She employs abstract expressionism rather than true representation through loose, free flowing movement.

Her highly textured art is predominantly achieved with layers of oil paint applied with a palette knife or brush. Yolan finds continuous inspiration in the natural beauty of the world around her - life in Spain before recently returning to the Gold Coast hinterland where she is currently based, as well as the natural beauty of New Zealand where she lived for many years.
