Set high in the Gold Coast hinterland, El Fin is a home that doesn’t hold back. Conceived as a true entertainer’s estate, every element has been considered at scale. From the infinity pool with its fire pit centrepiece to the rooftop golf green, cinema and cocktail bar, the home leans into experience, atmosphere and impact.

When we were brought in, the architectural vision was already firmly established. Our role was to step into that final layer. To refine, soften and connect the spaces through considered styling that would complement the home’s boldness without competing with it.

Holding Space at Scale

One of the defining challenges with a home of this size is proportion. Large volumes, high ceilings and expansive open-plan zones require sculptural pieces that can hold their own without overwhelming the space.

In the main living area, a large-scale artwork by Max Langborne, It’s a Long Way, does exactly that. The rich mauve and lilac tones draw the eye immediately, grounding the room and giving it a focal point that feels intentional rather than decorative. It anchors the space, softens the architectural lines and brings a sense of depth that carries across the entire zone.

This piece became a starting point for the palette, allowing us to layer complementary tones and textures throughout the surrounding furniture and styling.

Layering Texture and Material

While El Fin is undeniably bold, it was important that the spaces didn’t feel hard or overly polished. Introducing texture was key.

Pieces like the Celeste Vase and Starry Night Vase were selected for their sculptural quality and subtle tonal variation. Placed in moments throughout the home, they add interest without pulling focus, creating quiet layers within larger compositions.

The Maeve Kiln by McMullin brings a more grounded, tactile element. Its finish adds a sense of weight and materiality, working particularly well in areas that needed softening against stone and hard surfaces.

In the bathrooms, Nero Cotton Bath Towels introduce a softer, more inviting touch. Even in a home designed for impact, these smaller details shift the feeling of a space, making it more approachable and lived-in.

Bringing Life Into the Space

Greenery played an important role in balancing the home’s strong architectural presence. The Leucadendron Spray was used to introduce an organic, slightly wild element that contrasts beautifully with the more refined finishes.

Rather than overly styled arrangements, the approach was to keep things relaxed and natural. This allows each space to breathe while still feeling considered.

A Considered Finish

Throughout El Fin, the intention was never to overpower what was already there. Instead, each piece was chosen to sit comfortably within the architecture, enhancing the experience of the home rather than distracting from it.

From the large-scale moments to the smallest details, the styling works to connect each space, bringing cohesion to a home that spans multiple levels and experiences.

The result is a property that still delivers on its original vision of scale and luxury, but with an added layer of warmth and refinement. It feels impressive, but also inviting. Elevated, yet liveable.
