'Flora II' 2025 is an original artwork by Jay Feather.
"Both ‘Flora’ and ‘Flora II’ were created due to my love of Australian native flowers and also the wonder for the humble Sunflower, in particular the white sunflower (which I'm growing at the moment in my garden in Bargara Beach, QLD). I've also been reading ‘Bush Flowers’, Australian Flowers and Foliage for Decoration and Design by Cassandra Hamilton and Michael Pavlov and I am just obsessed with the form, colour and tones of various Australian native flowers. I also work one day a week designing floral arrangements for a local florist. Hence, this joy and love for creating in a new way has also made its mark to my canvas and it has led me to paint these paintings, created on raw linen. I hope you see the movement and life in each work."
