"During a difficult time in his life a good friend of mine sought solace in a small town called Bonalbo. While I didn't get the opportunity to visit him while he lived there, I have vivid memories of the conversations we shared at this time. This painting is a memory, from a place that I have never been. It's a celebration of life-long friendship, using intuitive mark-making and intense colour. This piece is really driven by this energy and emotion – manifesting as an abstracted outback landscape."
