The Kinfolk Table
We love the idea of a relaxing lunch outdoors under the shade of an established tree. Where delicious grazing plates are spread across large tables for everyone to dig in and share. And days where the lunch eventually rolls into dinner as the conversation flows and the kids play endlessly.
The Kinfolk Table by Nathan Williams celebrates all of this and more. One-third of the book celebrates delectable recipes loved by creative types around the world from Brooklyn to the English countryside. But, this is not an ordinary cookbook. You’ll also find narrative tales and inspiring images of worldly adventures.
The book embodies the same aesthetics of the Kinfolk Magazine we’ve come to love “We travelled around the world, sharing food and collecting ideas from our growing community of chefs, home cooks, designers, bloggers, photographers and others, many of whom contributed recipes to The Kinfolk Table. ”
Amongst the 85 recipes, you’ll find refreshingly simple delights that showcase the produce like freshly harvest mussels or cantaloupe with a healthy dollop of yoghurt and honey (recipe below). For when you have a little more time on your hands, ginger ice-cream with a kumquat compote, kimichi couscous or sweet potato and quinoa burgers will go down a treat. “We collected recipes from all different cultures that are suitable for nearly every occasion”.
